Multi-tasking Tips for the Mom:
Juggling Household Chore and Taking Care of Your Kid

Any man or single woman wouldn’t know this but it indeed takes immense effort to able to juggle all the work at home and still be able to take care of a naughty little kid whom you love dearest but sometimes makes you want to pull your hair out.

Experienced and seasoned moms who have had more than one kid are probably experts in the arena of multi-tasking and juggling household chores, taking care of the kid and taking care of the needs of the husband. But for those who are new at this undertaking, there is no need to panic, here are some few tips to make a life a little easier for you.

Tip 1: Organize and list your work load for the day. This is effective in giving you an overview of the chores to be done for the day and to see which needs to be accomplished sooner. Those that call for an earlier deadline like ironing your spouse’s business suit for his office meeting the next day should take a higher spot of priority in your list than cleaning the kitchen rugs.

Having a list also enables you to do a couple of chores that can be done at the same time to save you more time. For example, while waiting for the pot roast to get done in your oven, you can start folding the ironed laundry that have been waiting the whole week. Or as you wait for the washer to finish a batch of laundry, you can start washing the dishes. This trick will get you more tasks finished and give you more time to rest after.

Also, give a leeway for yourself. Leave a couple of chores undone (those that are least important and are not needed urgently) if you’re really tired.

Tip 2: Give toys to your kid that will keep his attention. Household chores are exhausting enough. It is even more tiring when there’s this naughty little kid who bugs you all day. One thing you can do to keep your kid occupied while you get your tasks for the day done is to provide him toys like wooden trains that will keep him occupied and entertained for house.

Wooden trains because of its constructible nature are not those other toys that will keep your kid’s attention only for a short time. Wooden train sets will engage your kid for hours of building fun and enjoyment that will give you ample time to finish the chores you need to do.

What you’d also love these wooden trains is its high educational value. It’s like you’re hitting two birds in one stone. While you’re giving your kid a wooden train to busy himself with, the same wooden toy train is honing a variety of skills of your kid that are essential in his developmental progress.

Just few of the skills that wooden toy trains enhance are you kid’s motor skills, creativity and imagination, hand-eye coordination, visual perception and so much more.

Tip 3: Elicit help from family, relatives or friends. There may be that inkling in you that you can do all these but you have to face it, you’re no superwoman. There’s nothing wrong with asking people to give you a hand especially during those times when work is overloaded like during laundry days when a truckload of dirty clothes are waiting for you.

When doing household chores and taking care of your precious one, don’t be too hard on yourself. Remember, you’re a mom and no matter how much you want to become supermom, you can only do so much because you’re only human.
